Obesity and just being fat are to different conditions.
Being fat should be difined as putting on one or more extra
pounds. Obesity it a health condition, being extremely over
weight which can be a severe health risk.
To determine if someone is obese, doctors and other health
care professionals often use a measurement called body mass
index (BMI). First, a doctor measures a person's height and
weight. Then the doctor uses these numbers to calculate another
number, the BMI.
Anyway, once the doctor has calculated a BMI, he or she will
plot this number on a specific chart to see how it compares
to other people of the same age and gender. A person with
a BMI above the 95th percentile (meaning the BMI is greater
than that of 95% of people of the same age and gender) is
generally considered overweight. A person with a BMI between
the 85th and 95th percentiles typically is considered at risk
for overweight. Obesity is the term used for extreme overweight.
There are some exceptions to this formula, though. For instance,
If you go to the gym, you have some muscle and you are found
to have a high BMI, BMI generally does not apply to body builders
as the excess weight is muscle not fat. As long as you keep
yourself by doing some cardio inbetween workouts you should
be ok.
Causes of obesity are generally down to these factors:
- how much you eat and what you eat
- your DNA/Genes
If you are born obese, this is down to the genes passed on
to you from a relation. You cant help this as it is in you
and you can not do anything about it.
If you are eating too much, and you have a slow metabolic
rate (the rate your body burns calories at) then the calories
will pile on and if you don not stop you will become obese.
Obesity can affect anyone in the world, some more than others
depending on how their bodies are developed.
Reductil can reduce your BMI if you take it for a year. Don't
expect immediate results as you need to experiment with the
dosage first which depends on your metabloic rate.
